Good luck!
Nothing stops you (anyone) from actually handwriting a post with a screenshot that they've killed the master, and mentioning the Tales of Maj'Eyal page in the post.
At the risk of self-horn-tootage, you could use my Timed Rest addon to rest 20 or 50 or some large number of turns at a time. The resting will be interrupted by all the usual things that interrupt rest.
I wish there was a 'wait until player interrupt or enemy detected / damage / etc' button. A number of my best characters have died because I was waiting for something but couldn't use auto rest and got complacent spamming the wait 1 turn command.
Thanks a lot for your feedback. If you have any constructive criticism, I'll always gratefully receive it, as I want to improve as a writer.
Hamrik's adventures are far from over, but website glitches have been giving me trouble uploading the latest updates. You can always find the latest chapter on the forums.
Yeah, I know that feeling. I tend to die in one of three ways: the occasional just-bad-luck where I bump into some rare that I can't seem to handle and can't seem to escape. (That's the least frequent death-cause for me at this point.) Or I tangle with adventurers and their ilk and end up getting team-roasted by the whole group at once. (Less common now that they are slower and easier to get around, but it still happens.) Or I get complacent or lazy, think the current area just isn't going to be that hard for me at my Amazing Stage of Excellent Advancement... and get pulled apart by my own hubris. (This definitely remains my number one casus mortem.)
Maybe someday I'll learn: humility and caution are important for adventurers of all levels!
@PowerWyrm....Dude, that means it IS a bug. It's not supposed to happen, it's a coding oversight, plain and simple. I'll be damned if I'm going to dig out walls.
But could we perhaps have a way to do this for individual unlocks? I got Marauder illicitly a while back, while playing around with a cheat-mode Shadowblade. I'd like to pick it up honestly sometime.
just food for thought:
how much of this stuff - like resources - can be figured out "on your own" - as the player whacks his/her way through the game... that's a question I have been thinking as a player.
so that is what has something to do with posting knowledge of the game as either spoiler or non-spoiler = "game-manual"-thingie
like the resources as I read them don't seem to be any spoiling of fun thing now, you actually need to know how the hate is restored, right, or would you rather keep on playing the game unsure of certain critical facts, maybe dying with the character before realising how it works...
I guess it also has something to do what the difficulty of the game is supposed to be?
is it meant to be ultra hard "find out how everything works" type, or let the player know a lot of stuff, that is very useful to know, and let the challenge be more say, in the tactical side of things, how the player learns to use this knowledge...
eh, what the hell do I know, anyway... just food for thoughts :)
Eagerly awaiting another story, this was great.
I was just wondering if there was a way to do this yesterday. Now I'm going to try and get my unlocks on nightmare
What is the "ego multiplier"? What does it mean to me?
right click on golem, go to "control creature", and then hit p to bring up his/its levelup menu. I just found out myself, so there ya go.
ToME is a closet obsession of mine and I really don't want to sour my cool reputation by having ToME post to my facebook wall.
Just wanted to tell you that this is great! I am very excited to see where his life takes him, and your descriptions of the doomed powers feel like they fit well. I hope this inspires other people for some more TOME stories!
yeah I agree with Klapaucius and The Rani (last two posts)
I was hoping to flood my facebook (and all my 6 "friends") with news about tome achievements, the pervert that I am hoping to convert my non-rpg-playing friends into trying tome...
But doesn't really matter, tell you that! Tome is amazing, without facebook or with.
What my "friends" and friends think doesn't (shouldn't) matter anyway, eh?
That's where I found ToME too! Glad I check RPS often. I've had a lot of fun so far.
As a Facebook user, I was quite happy enough to like ToME on Facebook with no special incentives whatsoever, simply because I wanted my friends to know about this great game, and wished to be updated on Facebook about ToME stuff.
I think the gameplay advantage was marginal enough that doing this for the free advertising was completely justified -
it's not like you can't get the same benefit from leaving Tome open while you're doing something else for a few hours.
Just an aside, for stuff like this temporary boosts are a pretty good option for pleasing everybody. Most people (including the facebook averse) aren't gonna be too stressed about giving people who 'like' the facebook page a boost for a couple of weeks or a month. It's the idea that they're permanently disadvantaged by not using social media that is stressing them out.
Some people are always gonna get prompted by a bribe ;)
Frankly, 'Eff Steam. They are full of whiny babies that play idiot hand holding games like CoD and think this is "Retro 8 bit quality". In other words, they still wear diapers and are not mature enough for a real game.
If there is ever a Steam version of the game, it needs to be a different compile with the default chat channel separate from the one your devoted minions use.
Some people cannot donate the regular way due to restrictive banks and all that nonsense. This is an option people can choose to use if they want. Desura is pretty fair. But if you can, I still suggest a direct donation for the obvious reasons strannik mentioned.
I hate the site in question and refuse to use it. I just wanted to say thanks for considering our thoughts against this idea.
Players who use the site will gladly like your page there without a bribe.
I am sure I am not alone in my feelings on this. Thanks for reconsidering.
If anyone is wondering why I refuse to use Facebook, it was the very first impression that made me feel cheated. I got an e-mail from a relative I rarely talk to "Inviting" me to Facebook. So I bothered to join to see why the relative in question invited me there. Then before I could find out, other relatives I knew were asking me why I had "invited" them to join Facebook. That was the last time I ever used the site.
It may have been a mistake that it did this, but it never asked me permission to invite everyone I ever knew. (It was worded in a way that suggested *I* sent the invite.)
I am a Donator, and I intend to buy a Desura copy of the game, and the Steam copy too if it ever manages to pass the Greenlight waiting room. We may not be wealthy, but we minions will continue to support you. You do not need Facebook. :)
My pleasure :)
Fine. Removed.
These are really hardly advantages. They're a few new zones, hardly a difference maker in the long run. They may provide, what, 2 levels at max? There's plenty of experience.
